Jack Lewis would remember the constantly moving crowds of boys and the bare brick passages. He wrote that it was like living permanently in a railway station.
Jack was happy at Campbell and liked his English teacher, LEWIS ALDEN, nicknamed OCTIE.
Halfway through the term, however, Jack fell ill. His father then chose to send Jack away to a boarding school in England.
