The C S Lewis Trail in Belfast and North Down
C S Lewis wrote of his boyhood that a favourite haunt of his was the Holywood Hills.
Early in life, Lewis began to love the green fields and mountains of County Down. A few miles east of Belfast lies the town of Holywood, and Holywood's verdant hills rise on Belfast's eastern fringe, to fall away into Belfast and Strangford Loughs.
The Lewis boys loved to cycle together around the North Down countryside, and Jack cycled for most of his life.
