Introduction

An Extract from the ancient Terran document, The Mahabharata:
"The brave Adwattan stayed steadfast in his Vimana. He landed on water and set free from there the Agneya-weapon, a weapon to which even the gods were helpless. He aimed carefully on his enemies: then the sun of the teacher liberated the glowing projectile with fire without smoke and awe-inspiring force. Dense arrows of fire, alike a downpour came down on creation and enclosed the enemy. Meteors flashed from the sky. A thick darkness descended across the armies of the Pandava's. All directions fell in shrouds of darkness. Turbulent winds started to blow. Clouds arose roaring and made rain down dust and gravel.

Birds grated like they were insane, animals trembled of destruction. The elements seemed to be disturbed by it. The sun appeared to flicker in the sky. The earth shook and and was scorched by the enormous and violent heat of the weapon. Elephants went up in flames and ran around in madness, seeking for shelter for this terror. Across a large area animals fell down to earth and died. Water boiled and all what lived in it, died too. From all directions fiery arrows descended continuously and terribly. The projectile Adwattan exploded with the the power of thunder. The hostile warriors collapsed like trees in a blazing fire. Thousands of war vehicles were destroyed."

"Gurkha flew in his strong and fast Vimana. He threw between the three cities of the Vrishni's and the Andaka's one single projectile, that was loaded with all the power of the universe. A white glowing column of smoke and fire, as bright as 10.000 suns arose in all its splendour. This was the unprecedented weapon, the iron lightning, a giant messenger of death, that burnt the entire family of Vrishni's and Andaka's to ashes.

Then, we had a strange vision; burnt by the power of the weapon, even the shapes of the fallen could not be distinguished. For many days together, terrible storms raged and the hair and nails of man fell out. Pottery cracked without provocation. Disturbed birds circled in the air and became white and their legs burst and became red. Food became poisoned. To escape from this, the warriors threw themselves in the rivers to clean themselves and their pieces of equipment. When the destruction had ended, Yudistthira, king of the Kuru's was told about the power of the iron lightning and of the slaughtering of the Vrishni's."

What happened to these people on the Human home world 1000 to 2000 years before these ancient writings called the 'Mahabharata were written?

• Who was Adwattan?
• What was the Agneya weapon?
• To what people did the Andaka's and the Vrishni's belong?
• What weapon has the "power of the universe"?
• What were these deadly side effects of the battle?

These questions have never been successfully answered. The CEG will try to shine some light on some theories explaining these events. The above quotations come from an ancient writing called the Mahabharata, an epos of 200.000 lines describing events that had happened 1000 to 2000 years before the time they were recorded. We will try to reveal this untold story of Earth. Furthermore, we will give a list of strange and unexplainable occurrences throughout Earth's history.

For hundreds of years, the human race studied their past, trying to unearth its early history. But somehow they have always found a way to dismiss any evidence, circumstantial as it may be, yet astonishing in its quantity, revealing any insight in this forgotten era of their own history. In the CEG's time line these incidents cannot be found. This is because real evidence seems evasive, there is nothing that can conclusively show that ancient Earth was the home of either an intelligent race of Human beings or a colony of a species remaining unknown to this date.

Different Theories

Many theories exist among Human scholars. They can be divided into two main streams. The ideas however seem to merge into one another, one theory starting where another one stops. There are many varieties that we will try to explain.

Alien Refugees Theory

Alien refugees escaping an unknown fate came to ancient Earth. They established a colony, hoping they would be safe there. However, that what they had fled for found them and a war was fought. At that time, there were Humans around, a species that had evolved and witnessed these battles, regarding the alien visitors as 'gods'. They did not understand the concept of advanced technology.

Colony Theory

A group of aliens came to Earth to establish a colony. There were Humans on the planet, intelligent yet in a pre-technological state. The aliens became teachers and guided the race forward on the path to an industrial and advanced civilisation but war broke out between different factions of the visitors. Some theorize that the Human race was the reason for disagreements. One group may not have wanted the Human race to grow into a future threat. They may have wanted the Humans to become a race of serfs or wipe them out completely. Another group may have wanted to allow the Human race to become an intelligent race that would enter the galactic community one day. Part of this theory suggests that the Humans learned to use the technology of the visitors and played a part in these battles. The use of very destructive weapons, like the Agneya weapon threw Earth's civilisation back into a barbaric state where survivors had to endure the changed climate and progress of any kind was not possible for a very long time.

Early Advanced Human Civilisation Theory

There is also the possibility that alien beings came to Earth finding an intelligent species that originated on the planet. The visitors lived among these intelligent Humans for a while but then war broke out. The Humans, who may first have welcomed the visitors, became unhappy with the alien presence and removed them from their home world. They may have killed all alien presence in the wars or forced the visitors to retreat from the planet. But the war devastated the planet. Its civilisation collapsed and the Humans fell back to barbarism.

Atlantis

Plato, an Earth philosopher (427 - 347 B.C.) described an island civilisation that vanished in a great cataclysm. It was called 'Atlantis'. For centuries, the tale of Atlantis fired the imagination of the human species. The only written sources are Plato's 'Timaeus' and the 'Critias'. In these writings Plato tells that he received the information from an Athen statesman called 'Solon'. On one of his journeys he had heard the faith of Atlantis from Egyptian priests. According to them, the island kingdom of Atlantis had existed in the Atlantic Ocean, "beyond the pillars of Hercules", a narrow sea link called the Strait of Gibraltar, connecting the Mediterranean area where Egypt and Plato's Greek civilisation existed to the much larger Atlantic Ocean. The natural disaster was supposed to have happened 9000 years before. The story of Atlantis has been important to Earth in the past to even go so far as to create a man-made Atlantean Continent to help the survivors of the Korhonen War and call the capital city, Atlantis.

So, where does this story fit in? Some theorize that Atlantis had been a colony of an alien civilisation while others believe Atlantis to have been an early advanced civilisation. So, in a way, the tale of Atlantis reflects both theories. In many ancient writings of many cultures we find references to 'gods' that descended from the skies to teach their people. Besides that, there are numerous references to the 'lands of the gods'. Atlantis has never been found. But it is not unlikely that if Atlantis was destroyed by a great theorize, it vanished without leaving a trace. Tests of mass accelerators used on uninhabited moons show that destruction of large areas result in destruction similar to natural disasters and that planets are quick to erase evidence of such an attack over a relatively short period. 9000 years is enough to remove all evidence of an attack or a natural disaster for that matter.

Vimana's: Ancient Technologies of Flight

The Samaranga Sutradhara is part of the ancient holy books of the Hindu's, a religious culture on Earth. (Humans believe in a range of different things, some of them are religions.) These are a collection of writings referring back to older times, like the Mahabharata. The Samaranga contains 230 couplets that give detailed descriptions of all aspects of the art of flying.

"The plane, that can move on the ground like a bird using its own power and on water or in the air is called a Vimana. The fuselage must be strong and lasting and made of light wood in the shape of a bird in flight with stretched wings. Within, the quicksilver engine must be placed, with the iron heating machine beneath.

With larger aircraft, because they are built heavier, four powerful quicksilver barrels must be built in. When they are heated by the controlled fire from the iron barrels, the Vimana possesses through the quicksilver the power of thunder. The iron engine must be welded strongly before it can be filled with quicksilver, and if the fire is directed to the upper part, it develops its power with the roar of a lion. By means of the power hidden in the quicksilver, the drive moves in the shape of a whirlwind. Then the traveller, who has taken place in the inside of the Vimana can travel through the air to such remote places that he will be like a pearl in the sky."

But there are other cultures, like for example the Sinu civilisation that blossomed between 500 and 800 A.D. on the continent of South-America. The picture shows a 5 standard earth cm. long aircraft in gold. It remains to be seen that the object is really of the hands of Sinu craftsmen. Aerodynamical experts share the opinion that the object has features allowing it to fly faster than the speed of sound. No known animal exists with the shape of the object. Is it possible that this artefact is older than the before mentioned times?

The Weapons of the Ancients

The Mahabharata names besides the Agneya weapon a weapon called 'Kapilla's Shine'. It could burn 50,000 men to ashes within a few seconds. In ancient texts are sometimes paragraphs stating that 'man tampered with the 'Holy Fire''.

"Then man tampered with the Holy Fire, the earth cracked open and 60,000,000 people in large cities drowned in one terrible night."

However earth, according to scholars, did not have a population of 60 million people at the time of these events. It remains unknown why the people of Earth failed to see the obvious implications of this. Could this catastrophe have been the result of tampering with weapons beyond their grasp? Could it be that the human species owned leftovers from the aliens that came to this planet? Terrible weapons of mass destruction that were treated improperly, devastating the planet after their mistreatment?

Other possible explanations could be of no alien involvement in Earth's development. If there were no mysterious aliens in earths' past, perhaps it is possible that these weapons or devices containing this much power were remainders of an earth based civilisation that erased themselves from history almost completely by means of almost inconceivable wars, again throwing back civilisation to barbarism. In that particular case, we find an extension of the Early Advanced Human Civilisation Theory. Are we seeing evidence of a cycle of barbarism to advanced civilisation, reverting back to barbarism?

For most alien species today, weapons like these are familiar. The first time atomic weapons were used on Earth was in a great war called the 'Second World War'. (1940-1945) This happened in 1945 A.D. Afterwards, the explosion was described similarly to what the Mahabharata describes, more than 2800 years ago. The Agneya weapon as well as Kapilla's Shine could have been atomic weapons. But who used them regardless of the idea that atomic weapons were invented in the 20th century?

Then the question arises on who the person Adwattan was. Was he a human using atomic weapons to erase his enemies or an alien race that came to the planet? Is it possible that the peoples named in the texts were groups of aliens fighting each other, while humans and aliens suffered from the terrible effects of fallout? It was not clear before 1945 what was meant by the procedures that we recognize as primitive radiation and fallout guidelines. It was only after the first atomic bomb was dropped on a city in an effort to end the war in that region that the "10,000" suns could be understood.

Answers ?

It remains to be seen if the people of Earth will ever find out the truth about their past. This is a great shame, as there appears to be an ongoing struggle in the human race, a continuous fight against the evil within. Now the human race entered the galactic community, will the wheel of time prove they have grown beyond petty wars or will once again their civilisation collapse?

Though many species have developed space flight, even having hyperspace capabilities, they are of no help to historians. A strange idea may be envisioned; while many species evolve and grow into pleasant members of the galactic community, on a small isolated planet, an insignificant race fights for survival on the thin line between puberty and adulthood. A frail status quo, a balance easily tilted either to evolving or devolving. Despite diplomatic endeavours between the people of Earth and the Vaipen and Ovaska, nothing significant that may shine some light upon these theories has been forthcoming.

We have come to the end of this journey into Earth's past. However, we cannot give definite answers as any conclusion would be premature at this point.
