EBR and EGR stands for Every Boys and Every Girls Rallies. These were originally founded in New Zealand in 1944 and eventually made their way around the world to Northern Ireland in 1958. Rallies were formed in Victoria Memorial Hall Assembly, Belfast and subsequently in other assemblies.
There are currently Rallies in the following assemblies;- Apsley, Ballyhackamore, Bethany, Brooklands, The Crescent including satellites at Braniel, Rathcoole and Seaview, Dunclug, Holborn and Woodford.
In 1978 the Australian Rallies
planned and hosted the first International Arura (Aboriginal word
for gathering at camp). The third International Arura was the
first to be held in the Northern Hemisphere and took place in
Enniskillen in 1984.
An International camp is now held in the Northern Hemisphere every four years and this is repeated in the Southern Hemisphere. If you are into travel, you can now attend an International camp every 2 years.
