Anfield
Home of hated rivals Liverpool,
this stadium looks a bit duff as none of the four sides seem
to match in anyway. Its all bits and pieces and does'nt seem
to have any design or idea behind it whatsoever. The old Kop
stand, the symbol of Liverpool's 80s dominance which 30,000
Scousers used to piss down, is long gone, as is ironically
the days of Liverpool being a top side. United have always
done well at Anfield and there's no reason why they won't
continue to do so.
Arsenal
Appearing from
nowhere in 1998 to mess up United's season, the 1999 Treble
put the Arse firmly back in their place and reinstated United
as the best in England once again. There is something contemptable
about a pack of supporters who take huge pleasure in
seeing their team win by the smallest most boring margin possible,
one bleeding nil. Most fans like to see their team win 5-
0 or an exciting 4- 3, but not the Gooners, it takes a certain
type of person to like Arsenal, boring gits are drawn to Arsenal
like flies around donkey excrement. They have virtually no
fans outside of London, because lets face it, they hardly
stir fans imagination like the mighty United.
Arsenal FC have
been boring the crap out of people for so long the boringness
has become genetic, for no-matter who the players or the manager,
Arsenal still end up with the same old one-nil mentality.Their
single only redeeming feature is that last minute League title
win over Liverpool in 1989 (and only then because we hate
the scouse rubbish even more)
| Aston,
John
John Aston
was a product of the United youth system. A forward
in the great side of the 1960's Aston was a quick player
with loads of determination. In 1967 he won a League
Championship medal but he will probably be remembered
for his superb performance in the 1968 European Cup
Final, when he had the best game of his career, to help
United win the European Cup.

Atkinson,
Ron
Ron Atkinson, United manager from
1981- 86 would probably have been considered sucessful by
most clubs, winning the FA Cup in 1983 and 1985, however United
are not most clubs and eventually he paid for not delivering
the illusive League title.Big Ron was a flash character, loud,
outspoken and with bags of jewellery, the fans loved him....for
a while. United were consistently 3rd or 4th each season but
after a super 10 game winning start to the 1985-86 season
United seemed certain to finally win the League, but they
faded out (as usually happened) and finished 4th.His managerial
plans were never helped by the injuries to captain Bryan
Robson,whom without United often struggled.
Fans lost patience with Big Ron as United slumped to 19th
in the table in November 1986, however it was still a surprise
when he was sacked and Fergie appointed his successor. Atkinson
bought his share of dogey players in his time such as Brazil
and Davenport but talents like Robson, Stapleton,Hughes,
Whiteside
meant his United teams were still quality outfits, who played
entertaining football and, who with a bit of luck just might
have been champions. Atkinson's cup success's at United and
later Aston Villa/Sheffield Wednesday, illustrate that he
was more of a cup competition specialist than a league championship
campaigner.
