Cruyff son of the legendary Johan began his playing career with local team
Ajax, before joining Barcelona, where his father was manager. After impressive
games at the Nou Camp and Euro 96 Alex Ferguson brought him to Old Trafford
in August 1996.
His debut was away at Wimbledon and overall his first season at United was mixed. He never got a good run in the team because of injury,although he won a Premier League Championship medal in 1997.Since then he has stuggled to keep a regular place in the team and the 97-98 season was ruined by injury. |
After
scoring goals against Southampton and Derby, Jordi joined Spanish club
Celta Vigo on loan in January 1999.He will return for United's 1999-2000
season. |
