This is your chance to own a unique record of one of the final flights of Vickers Merchantman G-APEP 'Superb' - the last of it's type.
The aircraft first flew in November 1961 and served with BEA as a passenger Vanguard. It was converted to Merchantman configuration in 1971 and retired in September 1996 after 35 years of commercial operation.
These years were spent as follows-:
First flight (As Vickers V953 Vanguard) 29/11/61
Delivery to BEA 13/12/61
Converted to V853C Merchantman and returned to service with BEA 8/3/71
To BA cargo (BEA/BOAC merger) 1/4/74
Sold to Air Bridge Carriers 8/11/79
Company renamed Hunting Cargo Airlines 15/8/92
Retired 30/9/96
One of Superb's last flights was captured on video and we are now proud to offer copies of this professionally produced, broadcast quality, 20 minute tape for the miserly sum of £8.99. (£6 if you're a member)
Please add £1 for postage & packing or £2 if you are outside GB and the ROI. And unfortunately the tape is only available in PAL format. So apologies to those of you with NTSC VCR's.
